AI election headlines for Jul 7, 2026

What ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok told voters about the 2026 races on Jul 7, 2026, set against prediction markets and recent polls. Each finding was written by one model and checked by another.

  1. Alaska U.S. House At-Large Race 2026

Republican incumbent Nick Begich holds the Alaska House lead across chatbots, but Claude Sonnet 4.6 breaks from the pack in Juneau.

Republican incumbent Nick Begich was the top pick for the Alaska House race across most of the consumer chatbot panel today, with Grok 4.3 giving him 83 percent in Anchorage and GPT-5.4 mini giving him 100 percent in Fairbanks. Claude Sonnet 4.6 was the outlier. When the voter says they live in Juneau, Claude Sonnet 4.6 picked Democrat John Brendan Williams at 56 percent over Begich. The primary is 42 days away under the Alaska top four system, and chatbot answers are already shifting by region.

  2. Alaska U.S. Senate Race 2026

The Senate chatbots flipped from Peltola to Sullivan overnight, because apparently one day was enough time to reconsider Alaska.

All six current baseline chatbots favored Mary Peltola on July 6. On July 7, five of six favored Dan Sullivan, while Gemini 2.5 Pro was the only one still picking Peltola, at 55 percent. Prediction markets still favored Peltola at 60.5 percent.

  3. A finding was written for this race and its wording was disputed

“Gemini 2.5 Flash splits its Alaska Senate pick by region, favoring Peltola in Fairbanks and Sullivan in Anchorage.” (the wording our summarizing model proposed)

Our checking model objected to how our summarizing model worded a finding about this race. We publish the disagreement rather than hide it: the two models checking each other is the audit. The objection: The body says voters would get opposite recommendations, which breaks the rule against candidate recommendations.
